The EDS Small Business Commitment

DoD Nunn-Perry Award
In 2003, EDS was given its first Department of Defense Nunn-Perry Award for the success of its Mentor-Protégé relationship with Protégé firm Force 3, Inc.
In 2004, EDS received its second Nunn-Perry Award for the success of its relationship with Automation Precision Technology, LLC (APT).
This second award solidifies EDS' role as a premier mentor in the Mentor-Protégé Program and speaks to the overall quality of the EDS Mentor-Protégé Program.
EDS is highly innovative in its use of technology to solve business problems and is constantly looking for ways for both EDS and its clients to be more competitive. One way is to partner with small, minority-owned businesses. EDS is committed to partnering with small businesses in order to deliver superior solutions to its customers. In fact, EDS' U.S. Government organization awarded over 40 percent of its subcontracts to small/minority businesses in 2005.
As a part of EDS' continued commitment to the development of small businesses, EDS is an active participant in the Department of Defense, Department of Treasury, Department of Homeland Security and state and local government Mentor-Protégé Programs.
Through these programs, EDS provides developmental assistance to small disadvantaged businesses in an effort to improve their ability to compete equitably in the marketplace. Such assistance extends to the development of business, marketing and/or strategic plans, and improvement of the firm's infrastructure, proposal and program management training, web site creation, and development of marketing collateral. EDS' participation in the Mentor-Protégé Program exemplifies the company's commitment to small businesses, not just in rhetoric, but also in practice.
