How We Help Our Mentor-Protégé Program (M-PP) Partners
The EDS U.S. Government M-PP provides its Protégé partners with many types of developmental assistance. This assistance may include:
- General business management, organizational management, financial management, personnel management, marketing, business development, business planning, strategic planning, engineering, quality assurance, product inventory, manufacturing, proposal writing, contract/subcontract management, human resources, process improvement, and technical and professional development training.
- Individual and company technical certifications, such as ISO 9001 and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). Other types of assistance, such as progress payments, advance payments, loans, and assistance provided by other entities.
How We Select Our Protégé Partners
The various Government agencies participating in the M-PP have different criteria for the selection of Protégés, based on size, revenue, years in business, or business case. Generally, EDS applies the agency-specific criteria and searches for businesses who need assistance in the areas where EDS is considered an industry leader. We also look for potential Protégés who are a "good fit" for EDS and our M-PP customer. The "good fit" justification is critical in determining the return on investment to the customer. There must be an advantage in doing business with the EDS M-PP partner.
Specific criteria include:
- Must be a certified Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB).
- Company meets the requirements of the Agency or military service sponsoring the relationship.
- Company understands the M-PP, its requirements, and its senior leadership supports the effort.
- Meet the EDS requirements of:
- Core capabilities and corporate philosophy are similar or complementary to those of EDS.
- Company is currently working with EDS, or has past performance with EDS.
- Company will work with EDS to have a reciprocally beneficial M-P relationship.
